| | For the past few weeks, when I'm talking to two of my good friends Rachel and Vicki, the subject of baptism seems to come up - not about a certain person being baptized necessarily, but just baptism from a Biblical perspective...how followers of Christ were baptized after they accepted and had begun to follow Christ.
Then one day last week, one of my RAs, Saxon, wrote me a really sweet card saying how she was so glad that I came to Christ. At the end, it randomly said, "Have you thought about baptism?" It was really weird because I had started thinking about it recently.
Fast forward to this Wednesday, and I was in Ford in the restroom...there was a new Stall Wall Weekly and I got excited because I love reading them. Well, one thing stood out. It said they were having the Mount Berry Church service on Sunday at 8, which is normal, but it also said that it was a baptism service. I thought to myself, "That's really weird! Who's getting baptized?"
Then yesterday (Thursday), I got an e-mail from Pastor Dale McConkey of Mount Berry Church (a great guy) about the service - it is open to anyone who has surrendered their life to Christ but has not yet been baptized, and those who want to rededicate their life to Christ with a symbolic re-enactment of their baptism. That was just God opening doors for it to happen! So, I am extremely excited to say that I (and a few other people) will be baptized at the service on Sunday at Richard's Gym Pool at 8 PM! Of course I was baptized when I was little, but I couldn't comprehend Christ or know what it meant to follow Him when I was an infant. I really am excited about being baptized now that I accepted Christ a little over a month ago.
